Autumn, 2008

Welcome Back! I certainly hope that you found time thiss past summer to relax, whether it was at home or on the road. Although it was summer, the Society was busy organizing our fall events. Our 17^th Annual Golf Outing is on Thursday, October 2^nd. The outing was sold out two weeks prior to tee off time.

Our Annual Italian Night Meeting will be held at Monsignor Romano's new parish, Our Lady of Guadalupe on Wednesday, October 22, at 1630 hours. The parish is located at 72-01 15^th Avenue in Brooklyn.

Our final event for October will be our Lobsterfest trip on Saturday, October 25^th. Please see the link for all the details. Briefly, we will be leaving from the Immaculate Conception Center at 1000 hours for the 2½ hour trip to the Nordic Lodge in Rhode Island. Once we get there, you can feast on all the lobster, steamers, clams, shrimp, prime ribs, spuds, corn on the ocb, numerous pastas, and salads. Included are two outrageous dessert bars. After we leave the lodge, we go to the Mohegan Sun for four hours. Beverages and snacks are on the bus. First come, first served.

As you can see, we start off with a busy October. Retired members will be receiving their post cards in the mail shortly with the 2008-2009 calendar of events. Active members, watch for the flyers in the command or visit the website. Please, everyone, get involved. Active participation makes for a successful organization.
