Monsignor Robert J. Romano
Spiritual Director
Autumn, 2008
Befinnings can be difficult! September brings another anniversary of 9/11 which is always a hard time for us. The opening of a new school year is always a time for butterflies in in the stomach. Do you remember those thrilling days of yesteryear? Beginnings can also be a time of positive change and success.
Right now, I am writing to you from a new parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Brooklyn. The change was a difficult one, even though I am only 12 blocks from St. Bernadette, where I spent 12 happy years. It's a challenge to begin all over again getting to know people and putting faces and names together. I know that somehow it will all work out - it always does with God's help.
I hope your Summer was enjoyable and that you had some time for vacations or time with family and friends. Now it's time to prepare for a new year in our Department and our Holy Name Society. I trust that this new beginning will be an easy one for all of you. You need to ve involved. We need you to make the work of the Holy Name Society a success.
You are all invited to "Italian Night" at Our Lady of Guadalupe on Wednesday, October 22nd at 4:30 pm. I hope to see you there.
As we start off this new year make an intention or resolution to make time for God, family and yourselves. Only you can make it happen. Take the time and make the time and your beginnings will be successful. Remember, only you can do it!
Be safe and God bless,
Monsignor Romano
